Ms. Healey’s 6th Period Algebra Class

Students learned how to factor trinomials with leading coefficient=1.  For homework, they should do pp. 276-277 #1-41 odd.

We played double-diamond baseball today (a review game) to help prepare for the CST exams.  Students were assigned page 299 #1-23 odd.  Most finished in class and have no homework this weekend.

Students spent part of the class period working on their California State Exam review packet (they will leave these at school) and then we discussed how to factor trinomial squares.  For homework, they should finish page 271 #11-22.

Students began our chapter on factoring polynomials.  For homework, they should finish pg. 268 #9-35 odd.

After the exam, students had time to work on pg. 219 #1-35 odd and #45 in class.  This section is on scientific notation.

 The 3rd Quarter ends on Friday!  Special Schedule: students go home at 2:20!

We played a Chapter 5 Review Game in class today.  For homework, students need to prepare a 3×5 notecard to use on Wednesday’s exam.  It would be a good idea to include examples from the game we played in class, as several of the problems were actual test questions.

Students will have their chapter 5 exam next Wednesday, 4/9.  To begin preparing, they worked on pg. 259 #1-18, 23-38.

Today we learned tricks to simplify the multiplication of special binomials.  Students were given time to work on pg. 247 #17-30 in class.
